timetable
Feel free to drop by and try out our two free trial classes. Everybody is welcome, ages 10 and up.
Who are we?
Ju Jitsufélag Reykjavíkur is a volunteer-driven martial arts club. We are affiliates of Shogun Ju Jitsu international and The Reykjavik Sports Association (ÍBR).
At our club both children and adults train in traditional japanese Ju Jitsu which includes a versatile mx of joint locks, holds, kicks, strikes, chokes, and throws. Our training approach aims to develop skill, endurance and self-esteem and as this is a non-competition sport all emphasis is on self-defense.
I want to try it out
If you want to come and try out we encourage you to show up in a beginners-, or mixed class (see timetable). In our beginners classes we are continuously reviewing the fundamentals so you can show up and take your first steps at any time through the semester!
Ju Jitsu is suitable for people of all ages, and an individualistic approach ensures that everybody trains at a pace that fits their health and level.
No special equipment is needed other than light sportswear for a tryout. We train barefooted so you don't even need shoes. We have dressing rooms and showers so just make sure to bring a towel. The final step is just to show up with a smile on your face and we look forward to welcoming you!
Beginner classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays:
Children and adolescents, ages 10 - 15 at 5:30 pm to 6:30pm
Adults, ages 16 and up at 8pm - 9pm
Registration
If you've already come for a tryout or just want to renew your membership then we do that through the Nóri system, where you log in using electronic credentials:
